The Finnish Line

Sunday to Sunday check in during the summer. The Finnish Line is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home at the premier Emerald Isle location of The Point! Enjoy the sunset and sunrise views of the ocean to the south, the inlet to the west, and the sound to the north. This is a home made for family fun with a huge well-stocked kitchen, 2 living rooms both with views, a front porch with opposing porch swings, another front porch on the third floor with a comfortable lounge, and a rear deck with outdoor dining and porch chairs. All of the decks have a view of the evening sunset. There is a grill on the rear patio as well as an outdoor shower with private changing room.

The double carport on the ground level is deep enough to accommodate four cars and the backyard has room to play - kick a ball, play catch, throw a frisbee - it's a lovely space with porch and patio seating for those who prefer to watch.

As you enter the house on the second floor, the door opens to the foyer, with french doors left and right leading to identical master bedrooms, each with a king bed, a full bath, a large walk-in closet, a TV and Roku. Each is perfect for a quiet retreat after a busy day or simply for a quiet night's sleep. Beyond the foyer, though another set of french doors, is a large 20' X 14' living area with 52' LCD SONY TV and Roku. A third bedroom has a queen bed, double closet and a Smart TV. A fourth bedroom has 2 twin beds (which can be pushed together to make a king), a double closet and a TV and DVD player. These two bedrooms share a tiled bath across from which is the laundry area with a washer and new dryer. The cabinets include cleaning products and light bulbs. Blankets and extra pillows are provided in each bedroom, including king sheets for the two twins.

The main living area is on the third floor, with the best views. There is a large comfortable living room, a huge, well-stocked kitchen, and dining table that seats 8 and bar seating for 8 for those who like to talk to the cooks at work. The kitchen has a Keirug and Mr. Coffee maker, crock pot, large pot for low country boil, many serving dishes and lots of utensils and cookware, electric grill pan, blender, and old-fashioned milkshake blender, toaster oven with air fryer, waffle iron, electric mixer, tea kettle, spices and herbs, mini fridge in the pantry, placemats, microwave, and a double oven.

There is a choice of access to the beaches. Go left to the walkway that will take you over the dunes or go right to the broad expanse of 'The Point'. Either way is less than a tenth of a mile. Both beaches will give you open space enough for picnics, games and even a touch of solitude.

  This was our first time vacationing on Emerald Isle and The Finnish Line property definitely helped to make our experience quite enjoyable. The property was the perfect size for us along with our adult children, spouses and grandchildren. We cooked most of our meals at home and I was impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with cooking tools and a variety of seasonings and spices. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. I appreciated that light switches were labeled. There were several beach chairs available to borrow, which was helpful. Even though the beach entrances are fairly close to the house, it is still quite a hike to get to the water. That wasn't a problem for the big people in our group, but when we come back we will definitely need a wagon with balloon tires to help carry all of our gear as it is a little tricky with gear and children. The beach is absolutely beautiful and wide! Also, you have your choice of calm ocean water or waves. We also liked that there was a paved path for running or walking that goes all the way into town.

  We had a perfect week at The Finnish Line. Everything was beautiful inside and out. The beds and linens are exceptionally comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked and organized. One of the nicest homes in Emerald Isle that we have had the joy of renting over the last 20 years. And the location is prime!! Hope to return soon.
