A Shore Gem

Sunshine! Sea Breezes! Oceanfront! A Shore Gem is just that. A beautifully remodeled and redecorated gem of a condo in the prestigious Beacon's Reach Resort Community. Gorgeous ocean views, beach access right off your condo back steps, through a mystical maritime forest right to the ocean sand and waves. 4 bedrooms/4 full bathrooms. Unit has a regular brew coffee pot. There is a charcoal grill in the outside utility closet in the driveway.
Amenities for guests include: Ocean Grove West community pool right outside your front door, with views of that pool from two different bedroom balconies so you can watch your loved ones frolic in the pool if you need a cool break; the Marina pool; and the more shady Westport pool with the popular Snackery where you can buy soda, ice cream, and hot dogs! There are tennis courts, pickleball, and basketball courts! Pools open up April 1, and closes in October-weather permitting.
Info on marina and boat storage can be given after booking.
Two parking spots per unit, only in the driveway. Any extra cars can head to 510 Salter Path Road to the Beacon's Reach Community office to purchase a 50.00 extra car pass for the week, for parking located there at the office. ONLY TWO CARS can park at the driveway or in the community of OGW. All other extra cars must park at Beacon's Reach office. Security monitors and is strict! The limited parking spaces are an HOA mandate, we apologize for any inconvenience.
Linens and bath towels are included with this rental. Please bring your own beach towels, beach equipment, and chairs.
Beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and baby items may be rented locally if needed-ask the property manager for this info at time of booking so you can get them reserved now.
Prime season in May, June, July, August, and part of September check in/check out day is Sunday only. Off season check in/check out days are flexible. This unit, per new HOA rules, only allows 2 consecutive week bookings, all year long. You must book two weeks in a row to rent this unit.
Check in after 4 pm, check out before 10 am.
This unit is a non-smoking unit and no pets are allowed.
Guests must be at least 25 years old to book this unit.
All At Waves Edge guests pay a 55.00 damage protection fee at time of booking. This covers you up to 1500.00, ONLY IF GUESTS REPORT the DAMAGES BEFORE CHECK OUT to the PROPERTY MANAGER.

The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is very close by, as well as many wonderful restaurants, shopping, and a well groomed golf course at The Country Club of the Crystal Coast. Explore historic Beaufort by the Sea for a day, and see the many artifacts from the Queen Anne's Revenge-Blackbeard the Pirate's infamous ship- at the Beaufort Maritime Museum. Book a deep sea fishing adventure, take an eco-tourism sailboat ride, or head by ferry to Cape Lookout Island and see the lighthouse! Don't forget about Fort Macon. Learn about the history of one of the most well-preserved forts in the United States, and see some gorgeous views. Visit the Rachel Carson Nature Preserve, go scuba diving, parasailing, or do the Beaufort Waterbug Tour and learn about our Shackleford Ponies. The Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament, the Seafood Festival, the Chocolate Festival, Chowder & Cheer Pub Crawl, and the Holiday Flotillas on the water are just some of our famous local events. There's something for everyone at the beautiful Crystal Coast!

  After getting over the initial and what I assume will be a short-lived awkwardness about HOA restrictions (contact the property manager for more information), we found this rental to be almost perfect. We loved the location on the island, proximity and ease to get to the beach (literally out the back door and through a nice shaded maritime forest). And even on a busy Labor Day weekend, there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the beach and ocean. The unit itself was comfortable with a bathroom available for each bedroom. It was clean and beautifully decorated with some excellent artwork adorning the walls (shout out to the glass fish in the master bath!). Just be prepared for a bunch of steps to get up and down and a quite compact kitchen. We would have liked a larger dining room table but you can’t always get what you want as Mick Jagger said. But truly you get what you need at this wonderful unit. The property manager was awesome, and I just hope next time we could get some extra parking passes without additional cost. I would not hesitate to recommend this to others.

  From start to finish, Heather made our vacation easy! We loved the beach house. It was updated, clean, had great beach access, and a pool. The decor was nice and the kitchen had everything we needed. The kids loved the bunk beds and having their own TV. We will stay again - we loved A Shore Gem!!

  If sun, sand , splashes, sandcastles and family time are your ideas for a perfect vacation from the work a day routine, then this is the place for you!
  Four bedrooms and four bedrooms assured short wait times to clean up. Porch/balcony out every bedroom for sunset watching/bird watching. Yes birds in the maritime forest! (I spotted a cardinal at the beach!)

  My family and I enjoyed that week there soo much! Wonderful location near the beach and the pool! The temperature inside is great and each bedroom is wonderful for my husband and I and for the rest of my family! The kitchen area ia fine; we’re able to cook! We love having two refrigerators there because we have soo many soft drinks, water bottles and Freezer Pops, etc.

  We enjoyed the Memorial Day week with our adult children and their significant others! There were the perfect number of bedrooms and bathrooms and things were clean and tidy upon our arrival. Our favorite thing was the close and simple access to the beach - you don't have to take everything with you (such as food) because you can easily take the shady walkway back to the condo anytime. It was peaceful, we never heard one neighbor and the beach was more private than most (not crowded even during a holiday!). For 8 people we could have our own private spaces which was nice. I only wish there was a dining table big enough for all 8 - it only sat 6. And living room furniture as well - it only sat 5 or 6. Our only issues were with the water not being turned on (first guests of the season) and the ice maker being dirty (possibly related to the water issue) but our amazing property manager helped us out (thank you Heather!). Also we arrived a day after an electrical storm so did not have internet until Spectrum could get there 2 days later. Otherwise, perfect weather and great memories were made! We would DEFINITLEY stay here again!

  The unit was beautifully updated, well maintained and the wooded path to the beach is awesome. Our objection is the limitation of 2 cars for parking with a 4 bedrm unit. We were informed about this but it's difficult with family from out of state. The
  reality is as renters you're treated like 2nd class citizens with restrictions owners avoid. It would be nice if you respected the fact that we provide the benefit of an owner income supplement and cut us some slack. Security harassed us multiple times and
  even stated our car passes you provided were incorrect. Seriously folks, we paid and we have to endure this. I know you could care less. However, we loved the unit but will never return.
