Bogue Sound Cottage

Come view the beautiful sunrise and sunset at our cottage. Sit on your back deck facing the water and enjoy the view. Then jump in your boat and hit the sound for fishing and swimming before coming home and relaxing in your beautiful surroundings. This four bedroom, 2 bath house has plenty of room for everyone. The living area is open concept with full view of the sound. The back deck gives you plenty of room to relax and the front yard has plenty of room for the kids to run and play. So bring your boat, use the boat ramp right next door, and tie it up to the boat dock, so you will be ready to go first thing in the mornings. You will want to come back every year!

  We had a great time here! The location is amazing and beautiful. Close to activities and places to eat and shop. The property manager was polite, helpful and responded quickly when we needed her assistance. I wish we were provided with more towels. With this being a beach house, and quite large, one towel per guest left us doing a lot of laundry. For a $350 linen fee, I would expect more linens and towels provided. The top comforters we’re not cleaned, we found multiple issues with our blankets. (Especially since they ask you to do so many checkout chores to help them.) The house was great and we loved staying here, there just could have been a handful of extra things done for us since this is one of the more expensive options on the isle.

  One of the best locations you can find on the Island, great view from the upper deck. There is a public boat ramp right there to lauch whatever you have, we used SUPS and am inflatable Kayak to paddle around Bogue sound and over to Long Island located nearly in front of the house. The only downside was the AC unit location, hot air is always blowing up through the deck floor and you can hear it constanly running from the lower sitting area. Other than that its a great place to spend your vacation, convenient to anything you need.

  The house was clean and the kitchen was stocked. Private dock right on the sound with a canal to put your kayak or paddle board in the water! Short walk to the beach. We also loved the go-carts and putt putt down the street!

  Bogue Sound Cottage was welcoming and relaxing. This 4 bedroom, 4 bath cottage on stilts is pleasant and unpretentious. The property was clean and provided ample supplies throughout. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the double oven! The property manager was quick to respond to my calls. The main gathering area could use a bit more seating. The beach was an easy walk across the street and the Sound offered pleasant views. The automated awning was very much appreciated on the back deck when the sun was high! Be sure to bring a kayak or small skiff for boating. Larger boats seemed to be a challenge from the ramp next door.

  This home was lovely with a great location on the sound and short distance to the beach. To get to the beach crossing a busy road was necessary though. The home had plenty of cooking supplies and dishwasher. It was mostly clean- we found what seemed to be clumps of cat hair in various locations, but otherwise the house was clean. Towels and linens were provided, but not many towels, so I’d recommend bringing extras. Also I’d recommend lots of bug spray for the mosquitos! All in all we enjoyed our stay!

  The house had a perfect set up for two small families. Two bedrooms on each side of the living space with bathrooms in between each set of bedrooms. The house was absolutely beautiful and clean and had everything we could need. There were 4 kiddos under 6 yo in our group and I felt entirely safe with them playing on the upstairs deck (had a latching gate) and in the outdoor spaces. We probably spent as much time outside as inside, so definitely a dream space for those that love being outside. Our dog loved playing fetch in the yard and the fence was enough of a deterrent to keep him on the property. If you have a dog that likes to escape, you’ll need to keep it on a leash because the fence isn’t made for that, but ours is good staying with us.
  The only drawback to this property is the boat accessibility. We knew our 24’ boat and 30’ trailer was too big to go on the ramp next to the house but we thought we could put it in at the ramp about a mile away. It’s the NC wildlife boat ramp. Well, that ramp hadn’t been dredged and my husband had to push our boat back to the ramp during high tide. Hopefully that resolved and it will be easier in the future. That wasn’t the biggest issue with the boat though. As this was advertised as a perfect rental for boats, I have to warn other boat owners- it is NOT for boats any larger than 15’. The driveway is impossible to navigate a large boat and trailer into because the fence comes right up to the driveway and the house is positioned on the street so that there is no way to swing wide to get the boat and trailer in properly. We’re experienced boaters and my husband has trailered our boat through so many extremely tight spots, but this couldn’t be done. Luckily, we were able to talk to the neighbor across the street and they let us use their driveway to pull into and back the boat and trailer into the driveway. They weren’t happy about the situation th
